I hadn’t forced myself out of bed to face a morning frenzy around a Capsule Collection at H&M since Lanvin in 2010!! But when my alarm clock rang yesterday morning, I jumped out of bed and ran to the angle of Lexington Avenue and 59th street, just a few blocks from home, in order to obtain the famous pass-bracelet and be one of the crazy lucky few that would raid the shelves of the so-long-awaited Isabel Marant collection for H&M.
I’ve always liked Isabel Marant a lot… from the distance. But this time, this cheap, I didn’t want to miss it. Especially when I particularly coveted the reversible silver jacket, on which I had a real crush. I have to confess : it’s this jacket that gave me the strength to get out of bed this early. I managed to get it and it’s even more beautiful in real!
I had also noticed the fringed grey boots and THE embroidered jacket, but I was rather pessimistic about my chances of finding both in my size, since my priority was to find the silver jacket. But I finally got lucky! I find the boots in 38 and I had the last embroidered jacket – that I’m wearing on today’s pictures. As an unforeseen bonus, I even found the little red and burgundy wool print sweatshirt.
I know there was a lot of controversy around the collection, especially on the blogosphere : not original enough, warmed over, too many media hype, exaggerated prices, etc. But I really liked it, though. In other, less barbarian circumstances, I would have liked to get some more basic pieces, such as the coats, the soft trousers or the lace top, that were very beautiful as well.
Moreover, I really wanted to see with my own eyes how successful our national Isabel Marant was among New York fashionistas. Well… They were quite enthusiastic, no doubt!
I will show you the rest of my treasures very soon. Until then, I hope you’ll like the quick pictures of these two purchases.
Can’t wait to hear your opinion about all this! What do you think of this collaboration? Did you fight laziness and cold to buy some of these pieces? If so, which ones?
See you soon.
