You might know that when you have a successful fashion blog, fashion brands sometimes ask you to wear their clothes on your blog. Obviously, you’re free to accept or decline the offer.
When it happens to me, I try answering a few questions : ‘Can I choose what I’ll be wearing ?’, ‘Would I have bought this clothes ?’ – that is to say ‘do I think it’s pretty ?’, ‘will my readers like it ?’, and last but not least : ‘can I speak freely and honestly to you, my readers, in the related article ?’. Most of the time, the answer to these questions have to be yes for me to accept the collaboration. There’s not way I would wear something that I don’t like, or write to you in a « commercial advertising » manner. It might not be the best way to proceed, but it’s mine !
The other day, when the brand I’m gonna talk to you about asked me to choose an outfit, I was about to close the email immediately and move on without blinking. But I finally clicked on the link, just to take a look, as the curious girl I am. And I really liked this graphic coat and this 60’s A-line dress. Black and white, mix of prints… I immediately visualized the look and thought that it would be fun to proove to you that you can break away from your prejudices about a brand and wear a lovely outfit.
When I was a little girl, my grand father used to force me to taste food : ‘You can’t say you don’t like it when you haven’t even tried !’. This is how I realized I actually liked many things that looked weird to me in the first place ! I often apply this childish concept to other things than food.
I’d be curious to know if those of you who haven’t scrolled too quickly have guessed which brand I’m gonna talk to you about today…
Ok, I won’t keep you waiting any longer : it’s Desigual ! I must say it’s not one of my favorites… Some friends of mine wear it really nicely, but I don’t identify myself to it. It’s not my style. Well, at least I thought so until a week ago ! And yet, I really love this outfit ! I think this coat and this dress are gorgeous, I think they match one another, and I don’t feel like I’m betraying my style by wearing them, quite the contrary !
Anyway, I hope you’ll be surprised by this look (we’ll talk about the pouch later this week).
See you tomorrow for a nice project I can’t wait to talk to you about !
