Yesterday, like every first Saturday of summer, was the MERMAID PARADE 2014!

I had loved it so much last year that Romain and I had decided to do it “for real” this time, we had planned to dress up and everything! Unfortunately, Romain is in North Carolina for work. I was a bit disappointed but still very excited, and I decided to go with my camera and a lot of sunscreen on to Coney Island to bring you many pictures.

Creativity, humor and cheerfulness were the … READ MORE

This week-end, we decided to escape from New York madness for two days, in order to discover something different about the USA. We had many ideas that were eliminated by common sense or delayed because of the weather, and we finally chose to go to Atlantic City.

Atlantic City is a town from New Jersey, often compared to Las Vegas because of the casinos.

It actually made me think of Coney Island, plus casinos. So I kind of liked it !

Plans for the week-end :

– walking on the boardwalk, the beach and the piers – especially the Steel … READ MORE

Saturday June 22nd was the traditional Coney Island Mermaid Parade.

Being an absolute fan of Coney Island and its legendary craziness, I was there, with my little camera and an appropriate outfit that I will show you very soon. It was really worth the trip !

Each mermaid was more original than the others, and there was a lot of glitter, fun and good humour. The aim of the event was to raise funds to help reconstruct Coney after the hurricane Sandy ravaged the area last october.

Thousands and thousands of spectators, sometimes as dressed up as the people in … READ MORE
